About Backflow Prevention
Backflow is when wastewater comes up into your potable water system. When this occurs, it’s usually when there’s a sudden shift in pressure on either the freshwater or wastewater side. This is usually something beyond your control. The freshwater side can lose pressure, for example, when a lot of pipes in the utility system break or the fire department opens a fire hydrant. The wastewater side can have an increase in pressure when there are problems in the municipal sewer system.
To ensure that sewage flows only one way through your plumbing system–out–you can use a backflow prevention device. If either side has a pressure change, the device closes a valve.
Residential and commercial plumbing systems may have a backflow prevention device. Some types of businesses are required to have them. If you have one, you should have it tested each year.
Whether you need a backflow prevention device installed, tested, or repaired, Paul the Plumber can help.

Called Paul on Valentine’s Day, today, Sunday, 2/14/21. They were very responsive. They were helpful and friendly. I was charged only $345 and it was a pretty complicated job with wall cutting required. The copper pipe on hose faucet on exterior brick had busted and was leaking. Had to cut inside house under sink. Didn’t put the hose back as third hose on exterior for multiple reasons but primarily because we would have to remove the bathroom sink completely. A lot of plumbing parts are sold out too per this odd hard freeze with schools and roads shut down. Replace pipe and end piece. Paul was very knowledgeable and friendly by phone. He has a good team that was helpful along the way as well. Deborah did great with communicating and scheduling as well. I highly recommend them.

Paul and his employees were all terrific, I honestly can't say enough good things about them! They were on time, very communicative, upfront about everything. My situation required me to leave and go buy a new toilet and they had another appointment, but they made sure to come back to my house after that appointment and were here well into the evening (way past working hours) to ensure that everything got taken care of and handled! I appreciate it so much! We will ALWAYS use Paul the Plumber for our plumbing needs and highly recommend that you call them for all of yours! Great people!
